FIRE EXTINGUISHER supply & annual SERVICING

From our base in Macclesfield, Cheshire we supply, install and maintain fire extinguishers throughout the North West area for our commercial clients. 

Annual service and maintenance 

For existing extinguishers, we will:

• Carry out an initial assessment to ensure the appropriate extinguishers are present and correctly sited.
• Carry out service checks including pressure gauge tests, damage assessment, weight checks and replacement of tamper tags, hose/horn O’rings and any other relevant small parts. 
• Replace any faulty or out of date extinguishers. 

Fire extinguisher supply and commissioning 

The Security Hub can also supply and commission all types of new fire extinguishers including water, foam, CO2 and Firexo.

Where are fire extinguishers required? 

It is mandatory that fire extinguishers should be sited in any building where the public have access. A minimum of two Class A fire extinguishers are required per floor dependent on floor size. These should be clearly visible and accessible at all times and suitable for dealing with the appropriate type of fire risk.  We can visit your premises and advise you on exactly what you need. Remember, if your fire extinguishers are not serviced and certified, then this could invalidate any insurance claim. 

Legal requirements for servicing (BS 5306-8)  

• Annual - All fire extinguishers must be serviced annually by law.
• 5 years - All fire extinguishers (with the exception of C02 and factory sealed pressure extinguishers) must have an extended discharge and maintenance check or be replaced.
• 10 years - C02 and factory sealed pressure extinguishers must have an extended discharge and maintenance check or be replaced.
